Welcome Message from It is our greatest pleasure to have among us the most distinguished and eminent faculty across the continents as well as local experts, delivering inspiring lectures and state-of-the-art demonstrations of endolaparoscopic surgical skills. The 2nd IESS provides you with not only the latest updates on clinical technology and research findings on endolaparscopic surgical techniques, but also opportunities for exchange of experience among experts from different countries and regions. With the advanced technological development, endolaparscopic surgery and robotic-assisted surgery have marked a new era in minimal access surgery. It is our privilege to cover some of the major achievements in this arena in the 2nd IESS. Meanwhile, the Joint Annual Scientific Meeting of the Hong Kong Society for Coloproctology and Hong Kong Society of Minimal Access Surgery, which comes immediately after the 2nd IESS, brings us stimulating lectures and fruitful sharing of experience among members of the Societies.
